Design New Inovation Indicators Focused on the Digital Economy

Analyze different mechanisms to develop new and inclusive innovation indicators, focused on the digital economy. The specific objectives are: (a) To explore new sources of information to generate innovation indicators; (b) Propose questions and variables on creatives activities to be included in the innovation surveys; (c) Evaluate the indicators currently produced with respect to the digital economy and propose a basic set of indicators to be collected by LAC countries with particular focus on productive activities; (d) Keep the harmonized database of innovation indicators updated; and, (e) Collaborate with the OECD, the RICYT, the UNESCO Institute for Statistics and other multilateral agencies to: i) consolidate communities of practice in the measurement of STI; ii) the development or updating of manuals, questionnaires and guides to good practices; and iii) training in issues of measurement and data visualization, to staff of national STI agencies in the LAC countries.
