DEV. RURAL INTEGRE DANS PROV. SETTAT

The integrated rural development project in the province of Settat is part of the realization of the objectives of the 1981-1985 plan. This plan aims to increase investments in the agricultural sector with a view to achieving food self-sufficiency and improving the living conditions of the population in general and particularly those in rural areas. The project covers the entire province of Settat concerning cereal production. It has a pilot area with an area of 230,000 ha or 24% of the total area of the province and is of interest to about 17,000 farmers. The main components of the project are: (i) creation of supply and marketing infrastructures; (ii) work and strengthening of intervention services; (iii) socio-economic infrastructure; iv) strengthening of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture (DPA) and v) credit.
