Description

Description

By developing a framework of projection models and a macroeconomic model this project aims at providing a consistent system of tools to improve fiscal supervision at the Fiscal Council in Slovenia. The framework generates a consistent and integrated baseline projection of educational and labourmarket attainment, household income, private sector production, supply balance components and public revenue and expenditure allowing for an assessment of long-term fiscal sustainability in Slovenia. Further, the model framework constitutes an analytical toolbox enabling the assessment of a wide range of policy options targeted at both households and firms. Including age in the vital parts of the framework allows for the fiscal assessment of challenges related to ageing such as health costs and retirement. The model framework is based on National Accounts and when possible individual specific data to obtain a detailed and accurate description of household and firm behaviour in Slovenia.
