DEVELOPING A SCALABLE MOBILE AR BROWSER

There is a global effort to increase the adoption rate of the Augmented Reality (AR) technology (Wikitude, Vuforia and recently Apple and Google), but things are still going slow. Some of these barriers are related to app development: the complex technical solution needed to be developed (6-12 months), the costs they imply (30K – 90K EUR). A well documented and implemented UX/UI design also contributes to those high costs and long terms of delivery. Then there are other costs and effort that add up, like content creation, maintenance, updates, marketing, retention. At the present moment, this technology is accessible only to big companies that have de budgets and the skilled teams to create and deliver AR experiences to their communities. We have identified an opportunity to disrupt this model and make the technology accessible also to SMEs, at better costs (approx. 1000EUR/ experience) in a matter of minutes through a SaaS solution – indexAR. indexAR is made of a web platform that helps content owners/creators (companies, advertisers, freelancers) become Authors of AR experiences at better costs and deliver them to their communities (Audiences) in a mater of minutes, through a free iOS and Android Mobile app.
