Description

Description

EI-YOUTH project aims to develop Ecological Intelligence in young people through collaborative mapping to promote sustainable European citizenship. The project will equip young people with key skills that will enable them to understand the interactions between natural and human systems, assess the impact of their actions on the environment and make responsible decisions (Ecological Intelligence). Based on this knowledge, it will be possible to activate processes of citizen action and participation in sustainability initiatives that empower young people to become active and socio-environmentally conscious leaders (Sustainable Citizenship). To achieve this goal, the project will introduce the collaborative mapping approach as a non-formal education strategy. This participatory practice will enable individuals to work together in development of projects that help communities identify, document, and address local environmental and social issues. The project consortium is made up of 7 organizations active in the field of Youth, Non-formal learning and Collaborative Mapping from Spain, Italy, Greece, Belgium, Turkey, Slovenia and Finland. The work program of EI-YOUTH is based on 6 WPs: WP1: “Project Coordination and Evaluation” WP2: “Development of EI-YOUTH Methodology and design of the Training Program for Youth Workers” WP3: “Training Program on EI-YOUTH Methodology for Youth Workers” including 1 e-learning course; 2 Transnational Training Meetings in Greece and Turkey. WP4: “Practical Implementation of EI-YOUTH Methodology” WP5: “From Learning to Action”, including the organization of the International Youth Exchange WP6: “Communication, Dissemination and Sustainability” The main output of the project will be the Eco-Social Global Mapping Hub, the platform where the Community Collaborative Mapping projects promoting the sustainable citizenship in the selected communities of the project will be developed by the young people.
