The project consists of 5 work packages, three of which aim to further develop and strengthen the LCU work in Denmark in regard to profiling and data consistency work. The fourth WP aims at capacity development within micro data linking (MDL) by using existing register data together with new data sources. As part of WP1 we will profile 8 large MNEs with GDC in Denmark and participate in the partnering profiling of at least 30 MNEs with foreign GDCs and presence in Denmark. The profiling of the large MNEs is an important part of LCU work its results laying the groundworks for data consistency work WP2 will deal with the further development of data consistency work in the context of the LCU. We will increase the frequency of LCU consistency checks and decisions from an annual basis to a quarterly. The WP will specifically deal with the describing of the work process involved in this process, and will also, on the basis of this work design a tool to administer and communicate revisions decided in the course of the data consistency work. WP3 will focus on data consistency checks of the balance of payments, which is a very important source in the LCU data consistency work. The work will be carried out together with the central bank of Denmark. An important outcome of the work will be the design and implementation of a tool to aid the consistency checks of BOP for the large MNEs. WP4 uses an existing MDL infrastructure and will take MDL to a new level by including newly developed ad hoc administrative registers and test the feasibility of using the MDL methodology to produce timely statistics on new emerging and highly societal relevant issues. We aim to use the experience gained via WP4 to expand the use of MDL in other areas as well. WP5 relates the resources allocated for project administration. The objective is to ensure that the project runs smoothly and meets its targets.
