Description
Description | The aim is to develop, maintain and ensure the rescEU Lithuanian stockpile to be able to respond to Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear threats (CBRN). Since 2005 Lithuania took an active role in the EU Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM). Over these years, Lithuania has provided necessary equipment and other kind of support to a number of the EU member states, to Bosnia and Hercegovina, Japan, Ukraine and others. Furthermore, Lithuania is an active participant in various Civil Protection exercises like MODEX. Lithuania is ready to contribute to EU level rescEU reserves mechanism (deployment service offered: availability for departure up to 12 hours EU-wide) by (i) providing stockpiling of therapeutics and personal protective equipment (PPE) of CBRN, (ii) ensuring effective delivery during the emergency response within EU territory in the shortest term possible, and (iii) contributing to make UCPM ready for any type of large-scale emergency and disaster in the long run. Effective solutions should be implemented swiftly, and best EU value added for EU citizens will be engineered. Due to former Lithuania’s experiences as well as ongoing process in planning to host rescEU CBRN regional capacity, Lithuania is ready to offer technical solutions for CBRN countermeasures stockpiling. We are ready to offer advantages of geographical location, small and flexible administrative processes. Lithuania is prepared to contribute to EU level stockpile and offer technical solutions for stockpiling by: 1. hosting stockpile of rescEU CBRN countermeasures: PPEs and therapeutics; 2. ensuring effective deployment of stock during the emergency response within EU territory; 3. contributing in making UCPM ready for any type of large-scale emergency and disaster in the long run. 4. to develop, maintain and ensure the availability of rescEU CBRN stockpile able to respond to a variety of cross-border health threats and complementing the existing rescEU reserves. |
