Description

Description

The objective of the project is to develop, maintain and ensure the availability of stockpiles of medical countermeasures serving as a part of the strategic reserve available for rescEU to support the response to different cross-border health threats. The project complies with the legal framework of rescEU defined in the Decision No 1313/2013/EU as it contributes to provide assistance in overwhelming situations where overall existing capacities at national level and those committed by Member States to the European Civil Protection Pool are insufficient to ensure an effective response. The stockpiles described in this proposal are complementary to existing rescEU medical capacity to further enhance the EU's collective preparedness for medical emergencies. The proposed capacity will be available for rapid deployment under the Union Mechanism (according to the quality requirements indicated in the Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/570).
