Development and maintenance of rescEU shelter capacities in Poland

The main objective of the project is to develop and regular maintain of the shelter capacity to be available for rapid deployment under the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) in the context of complex crises requiring to host people for a short period of time, during an emergency such as natural or man-made disasters. The temporary shelters provided under the project will include space for housing, hygiene and sanitation, basic medical service, social-gathering and non-food items together to form container towns. The capacity will be organised in a flexible and modular way, in order to provide a targeted response to the needs of the affected countries - the created capacity will provide the possibility of delivering not only entire container towns but also their selected elements. In addition, the capacity created under project will also accommodate needs of the most vulnerable people by fostering accessibility and preventing discrimination and violence.
