Information Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Karnataka has come up with Development of 9 Taluk Stadiums at Taluk Headquarters under PPP Framework with a ticket size of 130 INR Crores. This project in Sports Infrastructure sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Idea Stage and is being developed through the PPP route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka, is desirous of developing Taluk Stadiums at various locations in Karnataka. As part of their efforts to provide opportunities and facilities to sports activities in various districts, the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports makes available residential Stadium. The Department has identified 9 taluk headquarters such as Bantwal, Brahmavara, Baindooru, Basavana Bagevadi, Nidagundi, Babaleshwara, Ramadurga, Kitturu, Rabakavi Banahatti in various districts of Karnataka to develop, operate and maintain the Taluk Stadiums under PPP . The aim is to develop these Stadiums under PPP route. Developers will be invited to Develop the stadiums and the selected developers will also be given a part land on which they will be able to sports allied infrastructure and operate them for the entire Concession Period. The developers will be able to earn revenues income from such sports allied infrastructure, thus making the overall project, i.e. the stadium and sports allied infrastructure development, more financially attractive to them.
