Description
Description | This CB area is widely recognized for its long tradition in wine producing. However, the overall economic situation, impede wine sector stakeholders to raise the level and quality of wine production. Although rich in potentials, this CB wine sector faces the problem of standardizing quality of wines. Winegrowers and vintners are faced with lack of equipment, appliance of up-to-date techniques, necessary knowledge and promotion for their products, to be able to adapt demanding market requirements. Encouraging their networking and cooperation, supporting their initiatives and providing them expert consultations, would enable them to create larger processing facilities and therefore become more competitive. Therefore „Development of CB Wine Learning Area” will strengthen the economy based on enhancing competitiveness and employment potential of individual producers, young professionals and SMEs, through the development and adaptation of new technologies, processes, products and services in the wine producing sector of CB region. Additionally, population in this CB region consumes approximately 40 liters of wine per person yearly, which is considered to be high level of consumption. Wine producers, as already stated, often have difficulties in providing those consumers with constant level of quality of wines, which was taken into account in this project. Both countries also lack developed and functional sectoral and strategic planning and management system for wine sector development. Regarding to that, “WLA” Strategy developed, will represent innovative concept of a multi-stakeholder, inter-sectoral, problem solving approach, aimed at improving SME performance and human potential in the wine sector at the destination level. Also, what is very significant is that wine products are also an important element in tourism. This is supported by the fact that this CB region is widely recognized by its wine tourism, also seeking for standardized and high quality wine products. |
