Description

Development of Experimental System for Longfin Smelt and Associated Live Feed Rearing Systems CESU / Live Feed rearing system will be developed for Longfin smelt./ A longfin smelt (Spirinchus thaleichthys) experimental system and associated live feed rearing systems will be developed at the University of California Davis (UCD) Center for Aquatic Biology and Aquaculture (CABA) to allow for additional experimental capacity and/or facilitate research that cannot be performed at the Fish Culture and Conservation Laboratory (FCCL): experimentation that involves multiple stressors; e.g., pathogens and contaminants, cannot be done in the proximity of a rearing facility, due to potential risks to cultured populations. Funding authority: Fish and Wildlife Act of 1956, as amended, 16 U.S.C.
