Description
Description | The project aims to develop and implement digital fairway infrastructure that enables the provision of new maritime services between ships and shore. The developed solutions improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of maritime traffic while reducing climate and other environmental impacts. The project utilises remote pilotage as an operational use case, but the infrastructure, services, and solutions will be accessible for use by all commercial vessels on a non-discriminatory basis. The objective of the project is to implement a harmonised and standardised information exchange environment between ships and shore and consists of complementary works and studies in Finland, Sweden, and Spain. Selected fairways in Finland and Sweden are equipped with physical and digital infrastructure. For remote pilotage, several studies will be carried out, novel technical solutions will be developed, and operations will be deployed in Finland and Sweden. Maritime Connectivity Platforms (MCP) for digital traffic management information services are planned to be established, and digital services implemented on them. The mandatory ship reporting systems of Finland and Spain will be harmonised with the respective Maritime Single Window systems. Risk management and decision-support software will be developed. The testing and validation of developed solutions, services, and infrastructure as well as cyber security audit of the services will be carried out. The project contributes to improving the safety, efficiency, and reliability of maritime transport. Through digitalisation, the project promotes a more sustainable modal composition of the transport system and reduction of emissions. |
