Description

Description

MF Banka is a bank specializing in SMEs. It is the only one of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina, operating just above the microfinance institution (MFI) segment. MF Banka is well positioned to serve its target customers. Compared to MFIs, MF Banka is able to offer the full range of banking services (including deposit-taking). Unlike other banks, it has a different approach: it actively seeks out local customers and can quickly offer them loans tailored to their needs. KfW and the Netherlands Development Bank (FMO) have acquired a 23.14% stake in Banja Luka MF Banka. FMO and KfW each hold a 11.57% stake. The new shareholders will facilitate the expansion of MF Banka's loan portfolio and the expansion of its offering to Bosnian SMEs. In addition, with the support of FMO and KfW, MF Banka will further professionalize its organization and operations. The joint ownership increases the stability and security of the bank. KfW and FMO are expected to contribute know-how, experience, international best practices and risk management principles. This will have a positive impact on the bank's reputation and provide it with greater opportunities and access to additional sources of financing.
