Development of the Nouvelle-France site

The project consists in implementing the development plan for the Nouvelle-France Site located in Saint-Félix-d’Otis. This development plan includes: • The installation of a dock to accommodate the Fjord’s sea shuttles; • The development of a hiking trail and belvederees; • The improvement of animation buildings. The work consists of the installation of the wharf which will be made from bridges, over a distance of 400 feet and fixed to marine structures, to accommodate the ferry boats of the Fjord. The works also include the development of a pedestrian pathway with a length of nearly one kilometer and two belvederes allowing the enhancement of the landscape heritage. Also, the works aim at the improvement of seven buildings: 1) Huron Village: • construction of a cedar bark house •. construction of a traditional palisade of the traditional type (20 ’X 80’); 2) Main pavilion: • insulation of the glass • construction of a cold room and a garage (40 ’X 40’) • expansion of the employee room (12 ’x 24’); 3) Main Theater: • enlargement of the theater (10 ’x 70’) • building boxes (12 ’x 12’); 4) Farm of 100 Associates: • construction of an old farm (reproduced in the same way as the craftsmen of the time with raw materials) (32’x40 ’); 5) Hotel Dieu: • reconstruction of the building (26 ’x 40’); 6) Fort St. Louis: • construction of a palisade • construction of 5 houses of the fort; 7) Lower Town: • Construction of the Louis-Hebert House (32 ’x 32’) • Construction of the Entrepöt at Maison des Jesuites (24 ’x 24’).
