Description | The project involves the development of water distribution and supply facilities at Purbachal New Town, located on the outskirts of Dhaka in Bangladesh. The plant has a designed capacity of 340,000 tons / day (124.1 million tons/year). It will provide high-quality water to 1.6 million residents within the new city of Purbachal New Town. The project will be implemented in phases by 2023. Sponsors are Chinese United Water Corporation and Delcot Water Limited (Bangladesh entity) for a concession period of 15 years. The project cost is nearly BDT 6 billion or about $72 million.
