It aims to connect Iraq's southern Grand Faw Port in Basra to Türkiye via a highway, railway, and eventually an oil pipeline traversing nine of Iraq's nineteen provinces. The project is envisioned in three phases, with the Grand Faw Port scheduled for completion in 2025 and the road network in 2028. The initial phase is estimated to cost around $17 billion, with a total cost of about $38 billion by 2050. The project aims to promote regional connectivity and economic integration, benefiting Iraq, Türkiye, and neighboring countries. |
