"La Claqueta is an independent audiovisual production company founded 20 years ago, in Seville (Spain). Thanks to the international relevance of our previos works: Media supported ""La Trinchera Infinita"", 2019 (San Sebastian Film Fest awarded, Goya awarded, Netflix worldwide), Eurimages supported ""Animas"", 2018 (Netflix, worldwide) and Media supported ""Born in Syria"", 2016 (coproduced with Denmark), we have got the necessary experience and strength to be able to address this ambitious development slate made up of a variety of formats and genres, aimed mainly at European and International audiences. All the projects included in our slate are international co-productions which help us to achieve our aims: increasing our capacity and our economic weight in the market. As majority coproducer, the scripts are developed under our guidance and responsibility, with Jose Ortuño as Head of Development Department and 3 project leaders leading the projects under a consistent schedule. The weight of the female participants as directors and scriptwriters is especially relevant. We highlight our effort and work to implement environmentally friendly production policies from development stages, and also the design of marketing and communication strategies at very early stages of the projects. Our projects (3 feature films, one documentary series, one fiction series and one short) deal with topics of universal interest such as social integration, emigration, class differences and the empowerment of women. Our creative focus is on carefully developed quality audiovisual content with strong human values and international visibility under two different editorial lines and expected results: challenging projects directed by new talent, focused on getting long-term collaborations with writers, directors and partners, and powerful scripts directed by awarded directors to increase our International recogniton, position in market, and turnover."
