Devils Gap Lift Station Backup Generator Purchase

A backup generator for the lift station located near the Devils Gap Marina will be purchased. There is currently no backup system in place during emergency power outages. The community currently pumps the lift station out manually with a pumper truck during power outages. There is a risk that the pumper truck may not be able to keep up to the demand, the truck could be broken down during these instances, or an operator may not be present within the community. The lift station is located beside the Devils Gap Marina, in a low lying area within 100 feet of Lake of the Woods. There is a significant risk of overflow of raw sewage into Lake of the woods during a power outage situation. The portable generator will provide a reliable back up system to power the lift station during power outages. The purchase of the generator will ensure wastewater does not enter the environment and negatively impact surrounding communities.
