Description | The Devki Mega Steel Project in Tororo, Uganda, is a steel industry facility aimed at boosting regional industrialisation, job creation, and cross-border investment within the East African Community. The project will provide jobs for young people, build new value chains for small and medium enterprises, and create opportunities beyond Uganda's borders. The Tororo facility currently employs over 400 workers, with plans to expand the workforce to 20,000 across Devki's East African operations by 2027. The project is expected to create 15,000 direct jobs in Uganda, with 90% reserved for local residents. |
