Description | Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has developed a pioneering Green Hydrogen project in the Middle East and North Africa region that produces green hydrogen using solar energy. Since its launch in May 2021, the project has produced over 100 tonnes of green hydrogen, generated more than 1.15 GWh of clean electricity, and reduced carbon dioxide emissions by over 515 tonnes. The facility includes a gas tank for storing up to 12 hours of hydrogen production and a hydrogen gas motor with a capacity of around 300 kilowatts for nighttime power generation. The project supports UAE's national strategies for clean energy and net zero emissions by 2050 and aims to strengthen the UAE's competitiveness in hydrogen technology. |
