Description | The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comments for the proposed Dewey-Burdock uranium in-situ recovery project on about 240 public acres of a 10,580-acre project area near Dewey in Fall River County. If approved, Powertech (USA) Inc. could construct access roads, four groundwater monitoring wells, and an overhead powerline. The initial phase would disturb about four public acres. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued a supplementary environmental impact statement and license for the project in 2014. The BLM is preparing an environmental assessment to identify and mitigate any potential effects the project may have on BLM-managed public lands if approved. |
