Dewey-Burdock Uranium Mining Project

The Dewey-Burdock uranium mining proposal is located in southwestern South Dakota near Edgemont along the southwestern edge of the Black Hills. The project has been in progress for nearly two decades and requires numerous federal, state, and local permits. It has faced administrative and court appeals and opposition from local groups. The project remains in progress on multiple permitting items and, if federal permits are approved, state permitting can begin with hopes to start development within the next couple of years.
