Dharavi is being preserved in a detailed digital twin before redevelopment starts in full swing and reshapes the settlement, which is India's largest slum in Mumbai. The 3D archive is expected to guide relocation and planning while preserving a record of the neighbourhood that future generations will never experience. The digital twin is a precise three-dimensional replica of the settlement built using drone surveys, LiDAR scans, lane measurements and door-to-door mapping. It is expected to play a central role in the Adani Group-led redevelopment of Dharavi, supporting design reviews, construction monitoring, and long-term management of the redeveloped township.
