The Dharavi Redevelopment Project's first phase involves constructing around 10,000 rehabilitation homes in Mumbai's Dharavi area. The project aims to transform the densely populated informal settlement into a modern, integrated, and transit-oriented urban neighborhood with improved civic infrastructure, wider roads, open spaces, healthcare, and educational facilities, while preserving the local economy and social fabric. The project commenced in January 2025 and is being implemented in phases, with the first phase expected to be completed within 18 months from July 2026.
