This project entails the development of an undersea cable system that will connect Maldives to Europe and Asia via the Middle East and will be approximately 15,000 km long. This would help Maldives to become a global digital hub and to strengthen the digital infrastructure of the country. Total investment stands at $30 million, of which the International Finance Corporation (IFC) provides $19.1 million loan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) supports it with a $10.9 million debt financing. Sponsor of the project is the digital and telecom service provider, Dhivehi Raajjeyge Gulhun Public Limited (Dhiraagu).
