Description | The Diablo Canyon Power Plant, California's last remaining nuclear power plant, has been approved for a multi-decade extension of operations until 2045 by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The plant provides about 8.5% of California's power and is a significant source of clean energy for the state. The extension ensures continued clean electricity supply to around 4 million Californians and supports nearly 20% of the state's clean energy and 10% of its total electricity. The California state legislature still needs to approve the extension. |
