Description | Diamond Pet Foods constructed a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Rushville, Indiana, transforming farmland into a 700,000-square-foot plant. The facility began operations in November 2025, producing pet food for customers throughout the Midwest. It is the largest facility the company has built, expected to employ nearly 200 people initially, with plans to grow to around 300 employees. The project started from scratch on a cornfield, involving engineering and site development challenges. The facility is in a startup phase focusing on training employees, troubleshooting systems, and gradually increasing production capacity. The nearly $260 million investment was announced in late 2021, with construction beginning in 2022. |
