Digital Euro Project

planned

The digital euro is a digital form of cash that will be legal tender across the euro area, available both online and offline. It aims to reduce Europe's dependence on non-European payment providers by providing a sovereign European payment infrastructure governed by European rules. The project includes features for resilience, privacy, and cost reduction, and supports innovation and competition in the European payments ecosystem.
