Description
Description | "The project addresses critical challenges in Mozambique's education system by enhancing Digital Literacy. It aims to empower teacher educators and in-service teachers, particularly in remote regions, by equipping them with digital skills to foster inclusive learning environments. Our goal is to develop Digital Literacy for the sake of the Critical Empowerment of educators, e.g. to integrate the knowledge and capability to use digital tools and media in a pedagogy for critical and inclusive thinking, acting, and societal/environmental engagement. Through online workshops, virtual collaborative learning, face-to-face Active Learning Events, and hybrid Winter Schools, DILIGENCE attempts to involve at least 100 teacher educators from primary, secondary and vocational teacher education, and at least 200 pre-service and in-service teachers from all types of schools selected to participate. A multilingual virtual platform in Portuguese, English, Shangana and Emakhuwa will provide open learning/teaching resources to be implemented by the participants. These resources and the pedagogy behind have been developed in the lifetime of the Teacher Academy EU-Project ""Teaching Sustainability"" and in the ERASMUS+ project OER-CODEX. The resources will be structured in flexible, adaptable modules that can be incorporated in Initial Teacher Education curricula and in programs for Continuing Professional Development. The support exploitation, an innovative framework for Digital Literacy will serve as a guideline. CNAQ, the authority operating on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Culture, is lead partner in two work packages, which ensures the implementation of the modules in all national teacher education institutions in Mozambique. Our ambition is to make the virtual platform, framework and the modules freely accessible to educators in further Sub-Saharan countries." |
