Description | The Union government of India has mandated digital-only toll payments at all National Highway fee plazas across the country starting from April 10, 2026. Payments are processed exclusively through digital modes such as FASTag and Unified Payments Interface (UPI). The initiative aims to enhance efficiency, reduce congestion, and improve transparency in toll collection. The rollout is temporarily on hold in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, West Bengal, and Puducherry due to the Model Code of Conduct during elections. The FASTag Annual Pass fee has been revised from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075 effective April 1, 2026. |
