Description | The Digital Switch Over (DSO) project launched by the Nigerian Federal Government in 2008 aims to transition the country from analogue to digital television broadcasting to improve efficiency and create over one million jobs nationwide. The project has faced multiple delays due to funding issues, lack of infrastructure, political instability, and logistical challenges. The pilot phase was launched in Jos, Plateau State in 2016, and as of February 2023, the project has been launched in six states. The government has spent close to N60 billion on the project and continues to allocate funds to accelerate its completion. |
