DigiVil pursues the overarching project objective of improving cooperation between key actors in regional innovation systems through new forms of cooperation (model communities) and knowledge transfer between the partners as well as from the university directly to the region. The aim of the project “DigiVil” is to take up the potential offered by digitalisation and to develop a digitisation guide and catalogue of measures in cross-border cooperation within the framework of evaluation and development workshops involving regional decision-makers and to test ideas in the form of 4 pilot projects in different topics. The results are intended primarily to support the supply of rural but also periurban areas with the help of new information and communication technologies and to be transferable to other regions. While the findings from the project are intended to advance the development of further digitalisation approaches throughout the SKAT programme region, participating municipalities can position themselves as innovative business locations and sustainably increase the quality of life of their residents.
