DigitalHealthUptake (DHU) addresses the need to accelerate the uptake and large-scale use of digital health and care solutions in Europe, greatly leveraging lessons learnt from the efficient and committed EU cooperation in levelling digital solutions to combat COVID-19. DHU will facilitate active contributions from stakeholder groups across the digital health ecosystem: demand (patients, health and care professionals and providers), supply (large companies, SMEs and the public sector: universities, SDOs) and other actors (policymakers, payers, procurers). DHU offers a comprehensive set of services, including a radar to monitor and analyse available digital solutions, as well as a cooperation environment facilitating uptake by providing targeted resource packages that aim at educating and guiding stakeholder communities to choose, adopt, use and gain maximum benefit from digital innovations. The resources include implementation-oriented guides for programme leads, executive digests for decision makers and evidence to convince payers. While DHU includes all possible areas of digital health, it will also prioritise intervention areas for which to pursue a fast uptake, replicating lessons learnt. It will create virtual spaces where the demand and supply sides can connect and co-develop successful innovation and digital transformation uptake schemes. DHU provides several services to accelerate implanting and scaling up digital health: a twinning scheme for transfer of innovative practices, tools to support uptake of prioritised interventions, a technical assistance and training programme to strengthen stakeholders’ capacity building and activities to expand digital health ecosystems. DHU brings together a highly experienced interdisciplinary team of 7 partners from research organisations, companies as well as intergovernmental and multi-stakeholder associations at EU, MS, regional level, representing over 1,300 members, reaching out to 80,000 organisations and experts.
