"The overall goals of the project are to support optional needs expressed by Commission services to monitor or implement various EU policies. To fulfil additional needs expressed by Commission services related to ICT use, data can be collected by National Statistical Institutes (NSIs) on a voluntary basis. Data will be collected on the basis of Regulation (EU) 2019/2152 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 December 2019 on European business statistics and Regulation (EU) 2019/1700 of the European Parliament and Council of 14 October 2019 establishing a common framework for European statistics relating to persons and households, based on data at individual level collected from samples. This will assure the quality and comparability of collected data at the EU level. Planned tasks will include: • Collection of the optional variables, coverage and transmission of optional NUTS 2 breakdown for statistics on the usage of ICT and e-commerce in enterprises in 2026 and compilation and transmission of data and metadata for measuring the impact of digitalisation on productivity for reference year 2024. • Collection and transmission of optional variables in the topic information society participation, coverage and transmission of the optional technical variable ""Region of residence at NUTS 2 level and coverage of additional age group 75–89 for statistics on the use of ICT in households and by individuals for survey year 2026. In 2026, SURS will conduct ICT usage surveys to obtain data needed for measuring digitalisation in Slovenia and consequently of the EU. SURS’s provision of optional variables and breakdowns for statistics on the usage of ICT will fulfil data needs of policy users in the area of digitalisation, which cannot be fulfilled with mandatory data collected.
