Since 2005, HCSO has successfully applied for grants Statistics on the usage of information and communication technologies. Based on the reliable professional experience, HCSO would like to submit the proposal for Digitalisation grants, ‘Statistics on the usage of ICT in enterprises’ (module 1) and ‘Statistics on the use of ICT in households and by individuals’ (module 2). Module 1: Hungary’s main objective is to provide accurate and reliable data in addition to the mandatory indictors for the optional variables for all required NACE Rev.2.1 activity and NUTS 2 breakdown categories fulfilling the enhanced coverage for the statistics on ICT usage and e-commerce in enterprises for the survey year 2026 and to better understand the impact of digitalisation on productivity. These objectives are fully compliant to the regulation (EU) No 2019/2152 on European business statistics and its implementing Regulation specifying the data requirements and their coverage, as well as the deadlines for submission of metadata and quality reports. As a result of the survey, Hungarian Central Statistical Office (hereinafter HCSO) and Eurostat will have internationally comparable, harmonized data on ICT usage and e-commerce in enterprises. Module 2: According to the Regulation (EU)2019/1700 of the European Parliament and of the Council from samples, and its implementing and delegated Regulations, Hungary is required to provide data on household access to ICT devices and ICT use by individuals. Hungary intends to carry out its survey on the use of ICT in households and by individuals for 2026. Our objective is to collect and transmit all mandatory and optional socio-demographic information, regional of residence data on NUTS2 level, to provide all the optional variables in the topic information society participation and to extend the data collection on the age group 75-89. HCSO also intends to prepare and transmit in time the quality report and the metadata to Eurostat via the SIMS system.
