Elixir Energy Ltd has confirmed the Diona-1 vertical exploration well as an official gas discovery in Queensland's Taroom Trough play. The well has confirmed a recoverable overpressured Permian gas and condensate resource with low hydrocarbon impurities. Flow testing and clean-up operations are ongoing, with gas production continuing and efforts to recover stimulation fluids underway. The discovery expands Elixir's net acreage position in the Taroom Trough and is located near existing gas infrastructure, potentially enabling rapid commercialisation.
