Description | The project is a large allocation under the 2015-0548 - ROMANIA EU CO-FINANCING FOR ENVIRONMENT 2014-20 framework loan. The project aims to improve the capacity of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Services (GIES), as the promoter, to improve response to forest fires, floods and other emergency situations and comply with relevant national and international obligations as well as EU legislation. The project scope consists of the financing of the Vision 2020 programme through the acquisition and delivery of: i) 6 new light and 6 new heavy multi-purpose helicopters, and ii) about 700 fire-fighting trucks, ambulances and other land-based specialised emergency vehicles, as well as associated maintenance and spare parts equipment and services. |
