Distri7 is a small but strong and solid company: releasing five to ten features per year. As the company is set in Belgium which is a multilingual country, we only purchase all rights films for 7 to 15 years of ownership, with the right to distribute them in three territories : Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The company employs only three persons... ; this small team does the equivalent work of ten persons ! It is then obvious that for a company that size, subsides are essential. Since 2018, when Distri7 became independent from a production studio, the European subsides were simply necessary, as it is still today. With such subsides, we are able to reinvest finances in MG for bigger films such as DUCOBU PRESIDENT in 2022 but also in P&A through 2/3 of our features released. We analyse thoroughly the marketing for each of our film which is reflected in our P&A ; for example, in the last year we were able to focus part of the P&A in TV trailering targeting the high audience and therefore highlighting our coming releases. In the next 24 months, even though our main focus stays on distribution ; going to film markets, purchasing all right Benelux films for cinemas, we want to expend our market and start at the chore of 1 or 2 productions... Therefore becoming co-producer of a film. But as in everything we do ; before act we think and analyse, and we want to be sure of the productions we will choose. Ideally taking part in two coproductions would assure us to have two films of national and/or non-national (but European) productions and distribute them in Benelux, but it would also assure us to pay smaller MG for a production we would know from the start.
