Information Department of Power, Government of Nagaland has come up with Distribution System Strengthening with special focus on foothill SEZs with a ticket size of 467.26 INR Crores. This project in Electricity Distribution sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Idea Stage and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The project is to enhance the distribution capacity to 260MVA in the Industrial foothill area, and to support the NE Economic Corridor, to achieve load shedding free status, to achieve a high degree of system reliability and availability and to systematically reduce AT&C losses to a commercially viable level. The construction of 30 Nos. of 33/11kV Sub-stations and increasing the capacity of the system to 260 MVA to cater to the demand in the Industrial foothill area, and to support the NE Economic Corridor and and for Augmentation of existing DT capacity in those critical areas by 190 MVA. The project shall strengthen and augment distribution networks and distribution transformers to cater to the power requirements in the commercial foothill area where there is a huge critical gap between demand-supply capacity.
