It is a Victorian-first, suspended between the new elevated roadway along Footscray Road, running from Shepherd Bridge in Footscray to the city side of Moonee Ponds Creek, linking into the Federation Trail. The veloway is completely separated from traffic, removing the need for cyclists to cross six busy intersections, and features a four-metre wide two-lane path with 24/7 CCTV monitoring, emergency vehicle access, alarmed exits, and extensive lighting. |
