DJ Energy Private Limited entered into an agreement with Madhya Pradesh Government, to develop 98.7MW wind power project across Ratlam and Mandsaur districts in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The wind farm would involve the building of 47 wind turbines of Suzlon S97 make each of 2.1MW capacity each.The electricity generated from the project would be evacuated by Northern, Eastern, Western and North Eastern (NEWNE) grid of India to the state grid.The EPC for the power plant had been awarded to Sravanthi Infratech Private Limited (SIPL). SIPL would develop,construct,commission operate and maintain the project at an all-inclusive price. The estimated annual electricity generation from the project is 193,673.09 MWh resulting in annual emission reductions (estimated) of 184,542 tCO2e. The project is expected to generate 184,542 CERs (Certified Emission Reductions) annually. DJ Energy Private Limited was expected to sell the power to Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited (Madhya Pradesh Discom) through a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement. The APPC (Average Power Purchase Cost) 25-year base feed-in tariff as per MPERC (Madhya Pradesh State Regulator) tariff order, was US$ 0.081/Unit (INR 4.35 per unit @ 53.44INR/USD). The transmission charges would be paid by DJ Energy to the state transmission utility. The total capacity of 98.7MW was eligible for CDM benefits and the company had initiated the process with UNFCC. Details of financial closure were not available. The total project cost estimated based on UNFCC Project Design Document (ReGen quotations) was US$ 116.3mn (INR 6213.59mn @53.44 INR/USD). As per company sources, the project was in advanced stage of completion, land acquisition and other clearances had been obtained, financial closure was still awaited.
