Description

Description

Djewels is an innovative 20 MW green hydrogen production facility located in Delfzijl, Netherlands. The plant uses pressurised alkaline electrolysis technology delivered by John Cockerill and is designed to supply approximately 2,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year to industrial customers in the region. The project aims to demonstrate more efficient hydrogen production technology with a lower footprint and cost, supporting industrial decarbonization and energy transition goals. Construction is led by Rely, a joint venture of Technip Energies and John Cockerill, acting as the EPC contractor and integrator. The plant is situated at the Chemical Park in Delfzijl, directly connected to Nobian facilities, which is a strategic partner during construction and operations. The project has received support from the Province of Groningen, Waddenfonds, the European Union through the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, and the Ministry of KGG, with all permits irrevocably in place. Production is expected to start by mid-2028.
