Djibouti - Emergency Relief Support 12.04.2004

The proposed project concerns emergency humanitarian assistance amounting to US $ 500,000 (US $ 500,000 to the Government of Djibouti to deal with the disasters caused by the floods of April 12, 2004. Indeed, on the night of Monday 12 to Tuesday 13 April 2004, heavy rains caused severe flooding in the city of Djibouti which experienced the overflow of Oued Ambouli. This is the most severe weather that has occurred in the last ten years the Republic of Djibouti. Faced with this disaster, the government of the Republic of Djibouti has launched a call for national and international solidarity to help the affected populations. This assistance from the Bank is complementary and aims at consolidating the action of the Government and other partners.
