Description
Description | In June 2002, the Dubai Ports International Authority (DPA) signed an agreement for the management of Djibouti International Airport with the Republic of Djibouti. The agreement was part of the government's public institutions privatization policy and came at a time when the Djibouti airport was experiencing difficult times largely caused by the lack of business at the airport following the withdrawal or reduction of flights by large airline companies. The goal of the agreement was for DPA to improve the efficiency and financial performance of the airport in part through the normalization of its fees. DPI was also working with Dubai-based companies to establish air-sea services operating out of Djibouti’s free zones, taking advantage of the increased efficiencies and common management of the airport and seaport. In addition to improving the efficiency and financial performance of the Airport, DPI is actively working with Dubai-based companies to establish air-sea services operating out of Djibouti’s free zones, taking advantage of the synergies and common management of the airport, free zone and seaport. Couldn't find any info on contract period. It is probably 20 years, along with the port. None |
