Description | Foxhall Village Historic District Remove and dispose of existing decking and rails. If frame of existing deck is in adequate shape, we will add on to existing frame making proper upgrades to joist spacing to accommodate composite decking. New deck is to come out an additional 5 making the new deck (total dimensions approx. 10x17). New decking is to be framed with 6x6 posts set on concrete piers dug 30 below grade. New deck is to have 2x10 mains and 2x8 joists. Where joists meet house and where they meet edge of fascia board (2x10) they will have joist hangers. Where joists cross mains, they will be secured by hurricane hangers. All connections of deck made to 6x6 timbers will be secured with lag bolts and lock washers. Decking selected is to be Trex with hidden fasteners.Fascia will also be clad in 1x12 rocky harbor trex. A railing will go along edge of deck (36 in height). [NA |
