Doca Sewage System and Park Project

The project involves the construction of a park and a sewage system in the Doca neighborhood of Belém, Pará. It includes building approximately 19,000 meters of sewage network, 2,300 household drain lines, and 365 new drains. The sewage waste from the system will be transported to the Una treatment plant, which has faced multiple halts and is scheduled for completion in 2025. A sewage lifting station is being constructed in the Vila da Barca community as part of this project, without prior consultation with residents. The project has faced protests from the Vila da Barca community, who accuse the government of environmental racism and using their community as a dumping ground for mud and debris from the construction site.
