Description | South Korean conglomerate GS, Donghae City, and Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province have signed an agreement to establish a 2.4 GW artificial intelligence (AI) data center campus in Donghae. The project is backed by a KRW 30 trillion (US$ 19.9 billion) investment from GS and is expected to be operational by 2028, significantly boosting the region's digital infrastructure. The campus will be developed on a 231,000 square meter site within the Bukpyeong 2 General Industrial Complex in Donghae. The initial phase will deliver 1.2 GW of capacity, with an additional 1.2 GW expected by 2029, reaching full capacity of 2.4 GW. |
