Description | The 120 MW Doornhoek PV Solar Project is a ground-mounted solar power station near Klerksdorp in South Africa's North-West Province. It is owned and developed by AMEA Power and constructed by Sterling & Wilson as the EPC contractor. The project is part of South Africa's Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme, Round 6 (REIPPP PR6). Sineng Electric supplied and commissioned 19 central inverter skids for the project, which spans approximately 200 hectares and has achieved full-capacity grid connection. The project supports South Africa's transition from coal-dependent power generation to a diversified energy mix and is expected to generate over 325 GWh of clean electricity annually, powering about 97,000 households and offsetting 330,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. |
