Description

The Doornhoek solar farm project involves the construction of a 120MW PV power plant near Klerksdorp in South Africa's North West Province. Its goal is to generate clean electricity, with an anticipated annual output of 325 GW, capable of powering around 97,000 South African households. Additionally, the project is expected to offset emissions by approximately 300000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year. Furthermore, the project secured a 20 years long Power Purchase Agreement, solidifying its contribution to South Africa's energy landscape. The total financing amounts to $108 million, comprising of $100 million in debt funding from Standard Bank South Africa and $8 million in equity funding from the Industrial Development Corporation.
